Multipurpose forks

Forks are equipment made with two valves with synchronized movements, actioned by a oleo-dynamic cylinder. These grab’s body is entirely made of S355, they are available with one or two cylinders, these hydraulic pistons can be horizontal or vertical and equipment are used for loading and unloading different materials such as waste, manure, brush wood, straw, wallboards or panels. Very common in construction field are pallet forks, mechanical equipments available in three versions, self balancing, with comb shaped arm to be actioned manually, self locking.

Forks are divided depending on their use:

  • Grabs for agricultural works, green areas.
  • Pallet forks
  • Wallboard forks.

Our equipment are created depending on the machinery they will be mounted on with special attention to excavators’ weight or the loading at the boom of the crane arm, we produce particular links for any needs. Forks can be mounted on truck cranes or fixed, on agricultural tractors, on mini telescopic articulated loaders, on wheels or crawler excavators, self-propelled excavator.

Accessories

Accessories that we can provide with our hydraulic grabs are:

  • Bushing to be welded: adapter to weld at the top of the equipment to receive a rotator with shaft.
  • Flanged bushing: adapter to screw at the top of the equipment to receive a rotator with shaft.
  • Hydraulic rotator: it’s mounted on the bucket body, it permits an hydraulic 360 ° rotation. On stock we have rotator with shaft or flanged.
  • Mechanical rotator: it’s mounted on the fork’s body, it allows a manual rotation of 250 °.  On stock we have mechanical rotators with shaft or flanged.
  • Check control valve: it’s used to prevent that an equipment loses its load in case of breakage of hydraulic hoses.
  • Max valve: it regulates oil pressure in pipes. It’s usually mounted on the machine, not on the equipment.
  • Suspension link: it’s very important to use it because it swings the bucket through a classic cross movement so the machine doesn’t relieve tension directly on the equipment.
  • Custom-made link:  a particular link to satisfy our customer’s needs.

What is the difference between a hydraulic fork and a pallet fork?

The difference lies in the driving system and function:

Hydraulic Clamshell Fork: Used for loading and unloading bulk or branched materials (manure, hay, waste). It is driven by hydraulic cylinders (horizontal or vertical) that synchronize shell movement.

Pallet Fork: A specific mechanical tool for lifting palletized loads in construction. It doesn't require a hydraulic system for gripping and is available in self-balancing, comb, or manual versions.

Which type of fork is most suitable for plasterboard or panels?

Specific forks exist designed for handling plasterboard walls or panels in general. These tools allow lifting and positioning materials without damaging them, ensuring a secure and stable grip during transport.

How is load safety guaranteed in hydraulic forks?

Safety is a priority. Most of our hydraulic forks include a check valve as standard. This device prevents accidental shell opening and load loss should a sudden hydraulic hose breakage occur.

Can forks be mounted on agricultural tractors?

Certainly. Our equipment is extremely versatile and can be installed on:

What is meant by “cross-movement” of the suspension link?

The suspension link is a critical accessory that allows the fork to swing freely in multiple directions. This movement prevents mechanical stresses generated by the load from being transmitted directly to the machine arm, preventing fatigue failure and improving maneuverability.

What is the advantage of the self-balancing fork (FP A) compared to the manual one?

The FP A fork uses a spring system that automatically balances the load's center of gravity. This means the forks remain parallel to the ground both empty and loaded, greatly facilitating the crane operator's work, who doesn't have to get down to manually adjust the hook.

Why choose a vertical hydraulic fork (FVTB) instead of a horizontal one?

The FVTB series with a vertical cylinder is designed to have a minimal lateral footprint. This makes it superior when working inside bins or tight spaces where a horizontal cylinder might hit the walls, compromising loading precision.

Can plasterboard forks (FPC) be used for other materials?

Although designed for plasterboard, their structure makes them suitable for any materials in sheets or panels. However, to ensure maximum safety and material integrity, Tecnobenne recommends using this model exclusively for loads that respect the opening and capacity specs indicated in the technical sheet. – –

What guarantees the stability of pallet forks during lifting?

In mechanical versions (FP M, FP A, FP B), stability is provided by the quality of the S355 steel and the design of the attachment comb. For hydraulic versions, safety is increased by the standard check valve, which maintains constant pressure even in case of hose failure.
